A customer complained about a Webserver error.

After investigating I found out that they wrote their application to put each and every of the over 400 variables required in the URL as parameters, thus causing URLs of roughly 12 kilobytes in length.

Yes, I could get the webserver to swallow that. And the users could switch to a non-IE browser.

But I do draw the line somewhere, and it’s definitely this side of 12KB GET requests.
