The technician from our supplier tried to talk his way out of the lie he told yesterday. Hans took over the discussion; and this is something he does excel at. The result of the call was that the technician claimed to have called Hans – among others. Hans asked his mobile number.

“Sir, if I find that you did indeed called me, we will forget the whole matter. If this is not the case, we will keep our position.”

Needless to say, the technician did not call Hans.

I think the only smart thing he could have done today is admit the lay, apologize, and ask for another chance. We probably would have said “well, next time we still wish to have a different technician, but we will see about the future” and then actually given him another chance the next time after that.
