Gotta love our outsourced operations team. Sent them an email on Friday, 5:00pm, which informed them about a planned outage of a customer’s system over the weekend. I also asked them to inform the on-call guy to take a look on Sunday, after the machines were scheduled to come back up.

Of course they didn’t do this. Their excuse? “Friday 5:00pm is really too late to send us such important information, of course nobody was around to read that anymore!”

Normally, I would agree. But their garuanteed office hours are 6am to 6pm, every week-day. Trying to pass the guilt back to us for a 5pm email… that’s Chutzpah.
