After announcing “radical” plans to reshape the company at the last employee’s meeting, our overall boss and CEO is now leaving the company. Normally such statements of personell changes include a description of the new tasks; this one doesn’t, and that means he is leaving the corporation for the outside world. Of course it’s easy to read between the lines. The company is either in serious trouble, or there are some really unpopular changes coming up. As far as we don here in the trenches can tell, the CEO never screwed up. And he was liked by the staff.

Normally the captain’s supposed to sink with his ship, but maybe this time he’s leaving ahead of time. Like the rats do. Which is not supposed to say anything about his character.
