I only ever have on-call-duty due to one specific customer, who has special sales campaigns over weekends, and naturally is worried about the server having problems. My co-workers and I then stand by to fix things in case of catastrophes. However, if there are no calls I only get one 1/8th of the time. And for this miniscule amount of time (money) I am really not willing to ruin what is a perfectly fine weekend. Now the customer is requesting two more weekends. I took the opportunity to make enemies and suggested to give this on-call duty completely to our Operations team – which was hired for exactly this, and who is available 24×7 anyway.

Let’s see what happens.
