The job situation in IT has been pretty crummy in Germany for the past few years. There were jobs, sure, but nothing compared to the heydays of The Bubble. If you were fed up with your job – or worse, if your company decided for some reason you were no longer needed – this left you out in the cold. New jobs were hardly easy pickings.

Recently, there have been news reports of the job market improving. Now, I am not actively looking, but I figured I’d check out the situation. And lo and behold – there were indeed many, many job offers.

In Warsaw, Prague, and Budapest.

What a great time we live in. I could resign here, move to Prague, and then do my old job for less money than before. Anybody think this a smart idea?

I didn’t think so.
